Help!! Volunteering for Engaged Encounter gives you a rare opportunity to both share your time and talent and renew your marriage at the same time. As a community of families and priests focused on building and maintaining healthy relationships, Engaged Encounter provides an atmosphere of communication, openness and growth. Engaged Encounter also provides a sense of hope and inspiration, with an opportunity to change the world in a practical and effective way: by helping couples build a strong and healthy marriage.
As a 100% volunteer ministry, we could not be successful without the support of the many people who help out each retreat weekend. It takes dozens of people to put on a retreat weekend, with many couples working behind the scenes to handle business, logistics, and other critical functions.
Consider how you can help our community:
Presenting Teams: These are the teams that share their marriage experience with the engaged couples on the weekend retreat. Each presenting team consists of a priest, a junior couple (typically married less than 7 years), and a senior couple.
Host Teams: These teams greet all of our engaged couples when they check in for the weekend and help them get settled in.
Prayer Couples: These teams pray for the all the engaged couples, presenting teams, and religious during each weekend.
Weekend Support Teams: These teams help prepare and serve meals throughout the weekend as well as provide other needed support.
Logistics Support: These people provide critical support by ensuring that all required material and supplies are available for each retreat weekend.
Volunteer Coordinator: One of the most important roles, these people coordinate the scheduling of volunteers for each retreat weekend.
